Baan Hen is set in a well protected development with stunning views over the Andaman Sea and Kata Beach, just 500 metres to the North. This luxurious but modern villa has been designed to combine the very best of traditional Thai architecture and Western luxury. Built as two physically separate pavilions, around a stunning infinity edge swimming pool, the property can accommodate up to 10 adults or, 6 adults and 6 children, who will enjoy the pleasure of being superbly looked after in one of the finest properties in Phuket. There is a beautiful breeze and the pool area and Thai style Sala offer a spectacular opportunity to relax or entertain friends.
Built by long term Asian residents, Baan Hen is essentially a family home with a play room/ TV area for children and a study featuring satellite TV and Video/DVD/CD entertainment for the adults. The staff are friendly and provide a high level of comfort typical of the very best of Thai hospitality. A major feature of the house is the cooking, with traditional Thai style curries, spicy salads, superb fish and seafood dishes available to be enjoyed while overlooking the stunning sea view.
The entry to Baan Hen is through double doors made of hand-carved teak leading to a Buddha sitting down on the leafy path. Up the stairs one’s gaze slips out to the sala, and thence into a breath taking view of the Andaman Sea. To the right is a spectacular swimming pool with an infinity edge from which water cascades over rough black slate into a second pool below.

MAIN LEVEL - LIVING /DINING ROOM
The house is smart and breezy, with high ceilings mirror-polished Madaeng wood floors and enormous sofas upholstered in rough silk. Beautiful Thai antiques abound. The indoor dining area can seat 12 comfortably at a split bamboo table. There is a comprehensive sound system, a good selection of CD’s and a small library.
MAIN LEVEL - KITCHEN
There are two kitchens - one Thai, one European. The kitchen is fully equipped with a Teka hob and oven, a double refrigerator, with freezer, microwave, blender, juicer, toaster, rice cooker and electric kettle. There is also a BBQ. The Thai kitchen is on the lower level where most of your food is prepared. Breakfast and dinner is usually served in the outside dining area. Both the inside and outside dining areas seat 10 comfortably.
MAIN LEVEL - MASTER BEDROOM/STUDY
Across the terrace is the master suite pavilion that contains a fully equipped office - computer with internet connection, fax, and a TV with satellite. It has an enormous four-poster bed and an en suite bathroom with black African granite surfaces, sandstone walls, black slate floors and Madaeng wood surrounds. There is also an enormous sunken terrazzo and mother of pearl bath and a heavy glass shower cabinet with a private garden growing outside the glass.
MAIN LEVEL - POOL
The salt water pool, which is the colour of the Andaman Sea, is deep so that it remains cool. The pool has an infinity edge where water cascades into the lower pool which is also a Jacuzzi. Pool towels are stacked nearby.
MAIN LEVEL - OPEN SALA
Looking over the lower pool and garden of beautiful tropical plants the Sala is a traditional Thai room where you can entertain guests for drinks or tea. It is breezy and has spectacular views.
LOWER LEVEL - TWIN BEDROOMS/SITTING ROOM
Downstairs in the main part of the house there are further bedrooms around a central television area/playroom. The choice of channels and DVDs provides comprehensive insurance against juvenile boredom. There are also videos and games. These bedrooms comprise two twins, with Thai wooden beds and extra futons if required. They share a bathroom, with shower and wonderful views. There are also travel cots for babies.
LOWER LEVEL - BEDROOM
This bedroom has an ensuite shower and loo and can either be a double or a twin. It has windows on two sides with a view of the frangipani trees in the lower garden - very tropical.
LOWER LEVEL - THAI KITCHEN
The Thai kitchen and the maids quarters are at the back of the property and all the delicious Thai food will be prepared down here. If you feel like a master class, feel free to watch the preparations. The laundry area is also located here. There is a garage too and somewhere to store cases, golf clubs etc during your stay.
STAFF
There are three permanent staff - a housekeeper/cook, maid and gardener/maintenance man. Bed sheets and bathroom towels will be changed twice a week. There are also pool towels and beach towels.
