A two hour scenic flight from Bali, brings guests to Labuhanbaju in western Flores and the moorings of the Evening Star II. Met at the local airport, guests are whisked away to this magnificent 100 foot motor sailing vessel, which then immediately sets sail for the Komodo National Park, only an hour away. The National Park is also a World Heritage Site and consists of a string of picturesque, uninhabited islands and thriving coral reefs, set amidst the azure waters of the Flores Sea. It is also home to the famous Komodo Dragons. Growing up to three metres long, they are the world's largest living monitor lizards.
The Australian owned and operated Evening Star II, combines comfort and luxury with its air conditioned cabins, spacious deck areas, friendly crew, impeccable service and first class chef, making your leisurely cruise around the Komodo islands, an unforgettable one. Calm seas, an indoor saloon, covered decking at both the bow and stern, as well as an upper sunning deck, make the Evening Star II an ideal live aboard for families with children and of course, the ideal romantic getaway for adventurous couples.
Relax on some of the worlds most remote and pristine beaches or choose from any number of available activities while cruising. Hike prehistoric trails, swim with manta rays, watch migrating whales, or try your hand at sea kayaking, snorkeling, fishing or scuba diving. Come face to face with the Komodo Dragons and visit the land that time forgot.
MAIN DECK LEVEL
Board up easy steps from the tender platform onto the rear of the open living plan saloon and covered main deck. A Large Polished wood table dominates the rear deck which cascades backwards out to the fishing deck and forward into the main salon and the open air kitchen/galley. Polished wood finish of the saloon is equipped with Stereo, TV, VCD, VCR, wide ranges of videos and CD’s, library, and a lounge which surrounds the forward interior walls. Kitchen includes bread-makers, oven, 4 burner gas hotplates, microwave, bar fridge (a self service bar honesty system is operated), and all necessary appliances, including a fresh water maker. On the foredeck is the main dining table seating up to 15 guests and an area of sun loungers. A deck shower is available by the main boarding ladder.
BELOW DECK
Between the lounge and kitchen is the stairwell leading below decks to the sleeping rooms. The 7 spacious cabins, (4 doubles plus single bunk, and 3 with twin bunks) are all air conditioned. There are 3 shared washrooms below decks, with toilets and hot water showers. Also below deck are the Captains’ and Crew quarters and a mass cold storage room.
ABOVE DECK
Ladders from the rear deck lead up to a Sun Deck. Dominated by the twin masts, this area offers bench seating and a large open space ideal for taking advantage of the 360 degree views, sunbaking, and stargazing.
OTHER FACILITIES
Twin 40 horsepower zodiacs quickly ferry guests to and from popular dive, snorkel or heritage sites. Scuba, snorkeling and fishing equipment, navigational and safety gear, satellite phone, recreational equipment.

Captain, First Mate and 6 Crew members, including an accomplished cook.
WHAT TO BRING
Sunscreen, swimsuit, changes of shorts and light cool clothing. Sturdy walking shoes, and sandles, hat, camera, personal diving or snorkelling equipment, insect repellant, personal medications. Spirits, imported chocolate, or favourite snacks not readily available in the Wilderness of Eastern Indonesia!
